The outlook for the Philippine information technology and business process management (ITBPM) sector remains rosy despite global economic uncertainties and changing external policies, the IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) said in a statement Tuesday.

IBPAP president and CEO Jack Madrid said the Philippine ITBPM industry is built on the resilience and excellence of the Filipino workforce, which can adapt to shifting geopolitical landscapes.

“New foreign policies and global movements challenge us, but they also push us to elevate our capabilities,” Madrid said.

“By consistently and urgently upskilling our workforce in emerging fields like artificial intelligence, data analytics, and cloud solutions, we ensure that the Philippines remains an indispensable partner in the global ITBPM landscape," he added.

The IBPAP chief said a key factor in the local industry’s success is its focus on developing a highly skilled workforce, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, and cloud solutions.

Madrid said demand for IT-BPM services continues to rise globally as companies seek to increase efficiency and innovation through outsourcing.

He said the Philippines is well-positioned to meet these demands with its skilled and adaptable workforce, which is also known for its cultural alignment with global clients.

He added collaboration among the government, academic institutions, and industry leaders has also been crucial to the sector’s continued success.

Strategic partnerships also help ensure that the Philippines is preparing its workforce for the future and remains competitive in offering high-value, tech-driven solutions, Madrid said.

“The future of the Philippine IT-BPM industry will not be dictated by external policies or global uncertainties. It is defined by the strength of our people, our adaptability, and our unwavering commitment to delivering world-class services,” he said.
