Bitcoin set a new all-time high price on Monday by reaching over $109,000.
The price of the largest cryptocurrency saw a low of $99,400 and a high of $109,110 in 24 hours. To recall, Bitcoin's price was at $70,000 level before the US elections in November 2024, and gained around 55 percent since Donald Trump's presidential election victory.
Bitcoin surpassed $100,000 for the first time in early December.
Trump' has he pledged that the US will be the “crypto capital” of the planet.
The market size of Bitcoin was recently pegged at $2.14 trillion, according to Coinmarketcap figures, with a 24-hour trade volume of $111.5 billion.
When bitcoin reached the $100,000 level, Trump wrote on Truth Social: "CONGRATULATIONS BITCOINERS!!! $100,000!!! YOU'RE WELCOME!!! Together, we will Make America Great Again!"
Trump over the weekend also launched his own cryptocurrency, a so-called meme coin appropriately branded as $TRUMP, which was the subject of sparking feverish buying that sent its market capitalization soaring to several billion dollars.
