The Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced on Tuesday that three additional EDSA Busway stations will be built in 2026 to enhance the system’s efficiency and improve commuter access.

The new stations, to be located in Cubao, Magallanes, and the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), align with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to further streamline the busway’s operations and promote greater use of public transportation.

Transportation Undersecretary for Road Infrastructure Mark Steven Pastor said the bidding for the construction of the three stations was awarded this month, with work scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2026 and completion targeted for the fourth quarter of the same year.

“This construction will only start in 2026. It was just awarded this December and will be completed in a year,” Pastor said in a news release.

He also said the new EDSA Busway Kamuning Station is set to be inaugurated in the first quarter of 2026 as part of the busway’s modernization program.

According to Pastor, the Kamuning Station will be equipped with elevators and escalators to improve accessibility, particularly for persons with disabilities (PWDs), senior citizens, and pregnant women.

“We also have ongoing construction here in the Kamuning area to put up a new footbridge separate from the MRT-3. It will be accessible and equipped with elevators,” he said.
