The revenue collection of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) posted a surplus of P17 billion year-on-year after collecting more than P934 billion in 2025, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) reported on Wednesday.
Preliminary figures from January to December 2025 show that the BOC generated approximately P934.400 billion in revenues, exceeding the same period’s collection in 2024 by 1.9 percent, or P17.726 billion. The 2024 collection was at P916.674 billion.
The BOC said the growth was achieved despite challenges, including the lower import volumes, the suspension of rice importation, and global commodity price fluctuations.
The bureau added that the performance highlighted the positive impact of its efficiency, strengthened compliance measures, and the expanded use of digital systems in sustaining revenue collection.
According to BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno, border protection remained a core priority of the agency in 2025, as it intensified efforts to prevent the entry of prohibited, misdeclared, and undervalued goods.
Initial data also show that the BOC conducted 1,024 enforcement operations that resulted in the seizure of smuggled and prohibited goods worth approximately P61.707 billion.
The BOC said it continued to improve the oversight of bonded warehouses and expanded the use of non-intrusive inspection technologies to ensure regulatory compliance while minimizing disruption to legitimate trade.
“2025 was more than numbers or milestones – it was a year that showed the Bureau of Customs can transform, proving that integrity, service, and trust are not just ideals, but values we put into action every single day,” Nepomuceno said.
